The Christmas Train?

You’ll get to hear the true story of Christmas like you’ve never heard it before as you take the 10-minute journey around the Dry Gulch property on our authentic, narrow-gauge steam locomotive. But The Christmas Train is so much more than a train ride!



There’s plenty of dinner options including our cowboy chili or pecan-smoked brisket, old-fashioned shops with Christmas goodies, and activities like the carousel or ropes course.

What is Dry Gulch, U.S.A.?

Dry Gulch is an 1800s-themed summer camp and retreat center in Adair, OK that is owned by Church on the Move. It was founded by Pastor Willie George in 1986 and was originally used as an Old West movie set for feature family films. Dry Gulch hosts 4,500 campers each summer and during the Christmas season, it transforms into a magical Christmas village to host over 50,000 guests at The Christmas Train.

It may be the main event, but The Christmas Train is so much more than just a train ride! Take a stroll down main street and stop in at one of our specialty Christmas shops, or head over to Grand River Theater and enjoy a holiday puppet show! You and your family can head to the park area and take a ride on our carousel, bumper cars, or go-karts, and then finish the evening off right with a delicious cinnamon roll from our bakery. There’s lots to see and do, and in all we recommend around three hours to get the full experience!

Why can’t you offer more dates to attend?

The Christmas Train is primarily run by Church on the Move volunteers, and every night it takes 300 volunteers to serve our guests. Because of this, it limits the number of nights we are able to operate.

We take care to ensure that scalpers are not buying up The Christmas Train tickets to make a profit, but demand is extremely high and we typically sell out.

Directions to dry gulch U.S.A.

From Tulsa, travel east on I-44 to Hwy 412 and take the Chouteau exit. Proceed north on Highway 69 through Pryor. Watch for the Dry Gulch, U.S.A. sign (4.5 miles after Pryor) and turn right, following the signs to Dry Gulch.

From the north, exit I-44 at Big Cabin and proceed south on Highway 69 through Adair to the Dry Gulch, U.S.A. sign. Turn left, following the signs to Dry Gulch.

Are there any refunds or exchanges if I cannot attend?

There are no refunds or exchanges for The Christmas Train tickets and we highly recommend that you verify your dates with family and friends before purchasing. If tickets are lost, stolen, or destroyed they cannot be replaced, and tickets are only valid for the event date they were issued.

Do I still need a ticket to enjoy The Christmas Train if I’m not riding the train?

A ticket is required for entry to Dry Gulch, U.S.A. and all activities. We would love for more guests to enjoy all that The Christmas Train has to offer, but space is limited for each night of operation.

What can I bring with me?

You are welcome to bring your cameras to The Christmas Train and pictures are permitted everywhere except inside Santa’s Palace, where you may purchase photos with Santa. We do have designated areas for smoking and tobacco use, but we do not allow profanity, alcoholic beverages, illicit drugs, or firearms on our premises. There are lots of places to purchase food and drinks, so we ask that you leave your coolers at home. Please no pets.

What are the hours of operation?

The Christmas Train operates from 6:00-10:00 PM.

Are there places to eat at the event?

Make sure you come to The Christmas Train hungry! We have three sit down restaurants to choose from, that are equally delicious! You’ll have your choice of hamburgers and fries, cowboy chili and stew, or our pecan-smoked brisket. We also have a gourmet coffee shop, a pie shop, and bakery that boasts the best cinnamon rolls around! Besides our restaurants, there are plenty of snack options as well. Our restaurant prices are comparable to fast food prices.

What happens in the case of inclement weather?

We do everything we can to keep The Christmas Train running rain or shine! In the rare case of a cancellation, we will post a notice on this site by 1:00 PM on the day of the event.

Is this event wheelchair and stroller accessible?

Most of the streets of Dry Gulch, U.S.A. are paved, and wheelchairs and strollers have access to all our main attractions, including the train depot, gift shops, and dining areas. Wheelchairs and strollers are not available to rent at The Christmas Train.

Are tickets available to purchase at the event?

No, tickets are available by advance purchase only and cannot be purchased at the event.
